Our gastroenterology outpatient clinic sees new patients needing office visits, patients referred for gastroenterology consultation by other health care providers, and patients needed ongoing care of chronic gastrointestinal conditions, particularly inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis).
The problems seen most commonly in our practice for ongoing medical management include gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett's esophagus, ulcer disease (including Helicobacter pylori infection), gallstone disease, pancreatic diseases, celiac disease, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticular disease, intestinal tract cancers and potentially precancerous conditions, hemorrhoids, irritable bowel syndrome, gastrointestinal bleeding and unexplained iron deficiency anemia. Patients with liver disease (other than hepatitis C) are followed in this clinic, though we maintain a dedicated Hepatitis C clinic for the specific management of this condition.
Your Medical Record at Digestive Health
We maintain your medical records electronically, which allows immediate access to your medical information for our providers and support staff wherever and whenever they need it, and helps us ensure protection of your privacy. We also use electronic prescribing measures, which enhance patient safety through reducing the risk of an allergic reaction or drug-drug interaction.
Contacting Your Doctor or Physician Assistant
Questions regarding your diagnosis, treatment, anticipated procedure or prescription refills should be directed to our medical assistants, who are available during our regular business hours, 8:00 a.m. though 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. In many cases our staff can address your need directly. In those instances requiring a personal response from your gastroenterologist or PA, your matter will be communicated electronically to the responsible provider, who after reviewing your record may respond through our medical assistants or contact you directly at a later time.
While we try to address your needs in as timely a manner possible, please understand that we are also responsible for attending to emergencies, urgent clinical matters, hospitalized patients needing our care and scheduled elective procedures.
