Surgical Tools to Reduce Need for Urgent ERCP

When possible, choledocholithiasis encountered at the time of intraoperative cholangiography should be managed definitively or biliary drainage should be established.  If CBDE is not an option, a biliary stent should be placed, securing biliary drainage and allowing for safe elective postoperative ERCP.
